MRS. FREDERICK MARCHANT

        YAPHANK, L. I., Oct. 6- Mrs. Ada Marchant, a life-long resident of this village and a descendant of two of Yaphank's oldest families, died Saturday, at her home here, at the age of 78.   She was a daughter of the late Alonzo P. Homan and Susan A. Petty, both of whom were born here.   Mrs. Marchant, widow of Justice of the Peace Frederick Marchant, leaves a son, Leslie, and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Phillips.
